MELPIES HOUSE AND HAYLOFT GAMES ROOM SHARED OUTDOOR PLAY AREA USE OF OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL SLEEPS 12 4 SLEEPS UP TO 12 IN THE MAIN HOUSE WITH A REDUCTION OF 20% OF THE FULL WEEKLY COST 3 OR 4 NIGHTS SHORT BREAKS MONDAY OR TUESDAY FROM NOW UNTIL THE END OF JUNE 2015 WILL RECEIVE A 30% DISCOUNT Positioned at the end of a long driveway with glorious views across the valley and in the quintessential English village of Burwash. The village is best known for its connection to Rudyard Kipling and his home Batemans is now a National Trust property attracting many visitors. The village boasts 2 pubs grocery shop Post Office butcher antique shops and a tea room. Easily accessible from London the nearest main line station is 3 miles away and can transport you to London Bridge within 70 minutes. There is much to see and do in the local area with 4x4 action days pamper days horse riding and golf nearby including the East Sussex National Course which is 25 minutes away. Murder Mystery days are held at the Bluebell Railway and Herstmonceux Castle. Leisure facilities: outdoor swimming pool which is open daily from 20 May - 20 September until 6pm. The pool is shared with the main house however exclusive use for each party is on a rota basis mornings or afternoons. Closed 1 - 2 pm for lunch. Games room: exclusive use of games room which is located under the Hayloft and has a slate bed pool table air hockey and bar football. Play facilities: shared enclosed children s outdoor play area with swings and monkey bar set child s trampoline with enclosure slide and football goals. The spacious house offers FIVE bedrooms: on the ground-floor 1 king-size 1 double with en-suite shower room with WC and 1 further double. At the top of the oak staircase are 2 triple rooms each room having three single beds. Bathroom: on the ground-floor with roll-top bath and WC. Bathroom: on the first-floor with bath separate shower and WC. Separate WC downstairs. Lounge: with seating for 12 TV/DVD woodburner (first basket of logs included) and Wi-Fi in addition to a selection of films books and games. Dining room: light and airy with large oak table and chairs. Kitchen/family room: with an additional seating area large range cooker hob fridge/freezer washing machine dishwasher microwave and coffee maker. The Hayloft situated opposite the house is accessed via an open tread wooden staircase and would lend itself to teenagers or small family with small child/baby or those wanting some independence from the rest of the party. It offers additional accommodation for up to 4 people: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom: with bath separate shower and WC. Lounge/kitchenette/diner: open-plan with ample seating and leather sofa bed TV/DVD and Wi-Fi. Small kitchenette area with electric hob microwave toaster and kettle. Outside: private garden is accessed from the kitchen via a stable door and the ground floor bedrooms. The enclosed patio area has a rustic oak dining table with benches and parasols overlooking the enclosed swimming pool and lawn gardens. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen electric and Wi-Fi included. Central heating during the months of October through to the 1 of April is included during the hours of 7am - 11am and 4.30pm - 10.30pm there is an additional charge if heating is requested outside of these times and dates. Regret no smoking. 2 well-behaved dogs by arrangement. Additional info: 150 cash security deposit payable on arrival to owner. A private chef/caterer can be arranged direct with the owner subject to availability and at an additional cost. Location: shop pubs Post Office all in village a 10 minute walk. Arrival: 4pm.
